County Road 22 Update

The County of Essex has halted construction for the day on County Road 22 in Lakeshore while crews deal with a toppled hydro pole that has closed the road.

The road is expected to remain closed between Rourke Line Road and Auburn Avenue for the next five to seven hours, according to Essex County OPP.

The County of Essex has identified alternate routes for the afternoon commute:

Eastbound Traffic: Head south on County Road 25 (East Puce Road), east on County Road 42 and then north on Rourke Line Road to access County Road 22.

Westbound Traffic: Head south on Rourke Line Road, west on County Road 42 and then north on County Road 25 (East Puce Road.)

Both lanes of County Road 22 will be open for the morning commute, with lane restrictions beginning at 9 a.m.
