Curbside Organics Collection Coming April 27, 2021 Copy (6)

The new organics program that is coming to all single-family homes will be picked up by Integrity Waste Solutions. The organic waste will be transported to an Alberta Environment and Parks approved facility capable of accepting leaf and yard waste, food waste and other consumer organics from municipal organic collection programs, and bio-solids from wastewater treatment plants. Currently the closest Provincially approved facilities are near Edmonton or Penhold.

The cost of the new organics program is included in the current garbage utility rates with no increase associated with the start of our organics program. 

Residents that already have a green cart have been asked to store these green bins in anticipation of this program. It is time to roll out that bin and start filling it with your organic waste. Households that do not have a green bin will receive a new bin the week of April 12 – 16th. With the early spring weather we have been experiencing we are hoping to see all single family residence roll their green carts to the curb on Tuesday, April 27 for the first collection day and participate in this new program.
