Eligible Residents Encouraged to Register Online for COVID-19 Vaccine

Windsor-Essex residents eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination are strongly encouraged to go online to register for a vaccination appointment rather than calling. The call centre is experiencing extremely high call volumes, resulting in wait times of 30 minutes or more.

Residents are reminded to visit WEVax.ca to register. At the website, residents can also find other vaccination information, including confirmation of eligibility, find clinic locations and more.

Populations eligible for the Province’s COVID-19 vaccinations are based on age and risk. The following groups are currently eligible for vaccination:

Targeted Vaccination Clinics:

  • Residents of Windsor-Essex 60 years and older (birth year is 1961 or earlier)
  • Adults 50 years and older (birth year is 1971 or earlier) living in one of the following “Hot Spot” postal codes: N8X, N8Y, N9A, N9B, N9C, N8H, or N9Y.

At Participating Pharmacies:

  • 55 years and older in 2021

Vaccinations are done by appointment only and walk-ins are not permitted. Eligibility is subject to change.

If you are unable to book your appointment online at WEVax.ca and require assistance, the number to call is 226-773-2200. Again, the wait time could be 30 minutes or more, so we thank residents for their patience. Our call centre staff are doing their best to get to everyone as quickly as possible.

Residents with general questions related to COVID-19 can call 211.
