Finance Clerk - Full Time Position
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor this full time position is a challenging role responsible for the financial analysis for the Town of Vermilion as well as utility billing, property tax and other support as required:
- Prepare utility bills and collect receipts electronically and in person
- Prepare property tax notices and manage tax certificate requests
- Reconciliations of utility receivables and bank accounts
- Financial reporting internally and externally
- Assist with preparation of journal entries to adjust accounts as required
- Additional duties as required
The successful candidate will demonstrate a majority of the following skills/abilities:
- Bachelors degree required
- Customer services background including dealing with cash handling would be preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrated people skills and team player
- Experience with financial reporting an asset
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, experience with Serenic/Bellamy an asset
- Ability to understand and quickly deal with public concerns as they relate to the department and in a friendly and non confrontational manner
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Security Clearance; Satisfactory Medical Requirements
