Finance Clerk - Full Time Position

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor this full time position is a challenging role responsible for the financial analysis for the Town of Vermilion as well as utility billing, property tax and other support as required:

  • Prepare utility bills and collect receipts electronically and in person
  • Prepare property tax notices and manage tax certificate requests
  • Reconciliations of utility receivables and bank accounts
  • Financial reporting internally and externally
  • Assist with preparation of journal entries to adjust accounts as required
  • Additional duties as required

The successful candidate will demonstrate a majority of the following skills/abilities:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Customer services background including dealing with cash handling would be preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrated people skills and team player
  • Experience with financial reporting an asset
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, experience with Serenic/Bellamy an asset
  • Ability to understand and quickly deal with public concerns as they relate to the department and in a friendly and non confrontational manner
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Security Clearance; Satisfactory Medical Requirements
