Essex County Construction and Road Closures Update – Aug. 11, 2023

The following are part of Phase 1 of the County Road 42 construction project:

  • Construction is ongoing on County Road 42 between Banwell Road and Manning Road, and in the surrounding area. Please use caution and obey all flag persons and construction signs.
  • County Road 42 is now open between Manning Road and Lesperance Road, including the Lesperance intersection. Please use caution and obey all flag persons as restoration continues in the shoulder and boulevard areas.
  • County Road 42 remains closed from west of Lesperance Road to Shiff Avenue. The Shiff intersection will close beginning August 16th for about three weeks. Please follow the posted detour and refrain from using neighbourhood roads.
  • County Road 42 closures will continue moving westbound toward Banwell Road. Watch for details in future updates.

County Road 3 will have lane restrictions between County Road 20 and County Road 8 beginning July 10 for road construction.

County Road 50 will have lane restrictions between Dahinda Road and Wright Road beginning August 14 for road construction.

North Malden Road will have lane restriction between County Road 11 and Walker Sideroad beginning August 14 for road construct

County Road 20 will have lane restrictions between Ferris Road and Iler Road beginning August 14 for road construction.

County Road 11 will be closed between County Road 10 and County Road 12 for bridge rehabilitation work beginning June 26 for approximately four months.

County Road 20 between Creek Road and Concession 4 S and County Road 18 between Meloche Road and Concession 4 South will have lane closures on Sunday, August 13, 2023 for a cycling event. Please use caution and follow the posted detour.

Please use caution and obey all flag persons, construction signage and posted detour routes in these areas.

Line painting operations are underway throughout Essex County. Please exercise patience and be prepared to drive slowly through these areas. To prevent damage to your vehicle, please do not drive over the wet paint.
