Essex County Construction and Road Closures Update – Nov. 24, 2023

The following are part of Phase 1 of the County Road 42 construction project:

• County Road 42 is expected to be open to all east-west traffic by Dec. 1. This may be delayed if weather conditions change.
  
  
• Construction is ongoing on County Road 42 between Banwell Road and Manning Road, and in the surrounding area. Please use caution and obey all flag persons and construction signs.
  
  
• Concession 11 remains closed south of County Road 42. (Map ID#1)

The intersection of County Road 9 and County Road 10 will be closed for bridge rehabilitation work, beginning Oct. 23 for approximately nine months. Please follow the posted detour. (Map ID#2)

County Road 19 (Manning Road) will be reduced to one lane at North Rear Road for emergency drainage work for the Town of Tecumseh from Oct. 16 to Dec. 22. (Map ID#3)

Please use caution and obey all flag persons, construction signage and posted detour routes in these areas.

Line painting operations are underway throughout Essex County. Please exercise patience and be prepared to drive slowly through these areas. To prevent damage to your vehicle, please do not drive over the wet paint.
