Essex County Construction and Road Closures Update – Nov. 3, 2023

The following are part of Phase 1 of the County Road 42 construction project:

  • Construction is ongoing on County Road 42 between Banwell Road and Manning Road, and in the surrounding area. Please use caution and obey all flag persons and construction signs.
  • County Road 42 is open between Manning Road and Shiff Drive, including the Lesperance intersection. Please use caution and obey all flag persons as restoration continues in the shoulder and boulevard areas.
  • The intersection of County Road 42 and Banwell Road will be closed to all traffic beginning Oct. 10 for approximately six weeks. Please follow the posted detour and refrain from using neighbourhood roads.

The intersection of County Road 9 and County Road 10 will be closed for bridge rehabilitation work, beginning Oct. 23 for approximately nine months. Please follow the posted detour.

County Road 19 (Manning Road) will be reduced to one lane at North Rear Road for emergency drainage work for the Town of Tecumseh from Oct. 16 to Dec. 22.

County Road 8 will be closed between County Road 27 and County Road 31 for culvert rehabilitation work, beginning Oct. 23 for approximately six weeks.

County Road 8 will have lane restrictions between County Road 27 and Graham Sideroad for road construction beginning Oct. 27 for approximately three weeks.

County Road 3 will have lane restrictions between County Road 20 and County Road 8 beginning Oct. 30 for road construction.

Please use caution and obey all flag persons, construction signage and posted detour routes in these areas.

Line painting operations are underway throughout Essex County. Please exercise patience and be prepared to drive slowly through these areas. To prevent damage to your vehicle, please do not drive over the wet paint.
