Essex County Construction and Road Closures Update – Oct. 11, 2024
County Road 15 will be closed between County Road 11 and County Road 18 for bridge rehabilitation work beginning Aug. 13 for approximately 14 weeks.
County Road 18 will be closed between County Road 11 and County Road 9 for a culvert replacement beginning Sept. 23 for approximately four weeks.
County Road 31 will be closed between County Road 8 and County Road 14 for a culvert replacement beginning Sept. 23 for approximately five weeks.
County Road 37 will be closed between County Road 14 and County Road 34 for a culvert replacement beginning Oct. 15 for approximately five weeks.
County Road 34 will have lane restrictions between County Road 19 (Manning Road) and Wilson Sideroad beginning July 29 for road construction.
County Road 42 will have lane restrictions between County Road 37 and Highway 401 beginning July 31 for road construction.
County Road 27 will have lane restrictions between County Road 14 and County Road 34 beginning Oct. 8 for road construction.
County Road 46 will have lane restrictions between County Road 19 (Manning Road) and Lakeshore Road 203 beginning July 24 for road construction.
The Highway 401 ramps at County Road 42 (Tilbury) will be closed by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation for construction beginning Oct.10 for approximately two weeks. Please follow the posted detour.
County Road 42 and County Road 43 roundabout construction is continuing on schedule. Please use caution and obey all flag persons and construction signs. County Road 42 is closed in both directions with local access only to residents and businesses from County Road 43 (Banwell Road) to Lauzon Road. All businesses remain open during construction. Please be patient when you encounter road line painting operations. Be prepared to drive slowly and do not drive over the wet paint to prevent damage to your vehicle.
