Essex County Construction and Road Closures Update – Sept. 22, 2023

The following are part of Phase 1 of the County Road 42 construction project:

  • Construction is ongoing on County Road 42 between Banwell Road and Manning Road, and in the surrounding area. Please use caution and obey all flag persons and construction signs.
  • County Road 42 is open between Manning Road and Shiff Drive, including the Lesperance intersection. Please use caution and obey all flag persons as restoration continues in the shoulder and boulevard areas.
  • County Road 42 is closed from Shiff Drive to Banwell Road beginning Sept. 5 for approximately eight weeks. Please follow the posted detour and refrain from using neighbourhood roads.
  • The intersection of County Road 42 and Banwell Road is expected to close the week of Oct. 9 and remain closed for approximately four to six weeks. Watch for details in future updates.

County Road 8 will have lane restrictions between County Road 27 and Graham Sideroad beginning Sept. 20 for road construction.

County Road 11 will have lane restrictions in McGregor between County Road 10 and Parkside Drive beginning Sept. 20 for road construction.

County Road 11 will be closed between County Road 10 and County Road 12 for bridge rehabilitation work beginning June 26 for approximately four months.

County Road 25 will have lane restrictions between Highway 401 and County Road 42 Road beginning Sept. 15 for road construction.

County Road 50 will have lane restrictions between Dahinda Road and Wright Road beginning in September for road construction. Watch future updates for the start date.

Please use caution and obey all flag persons, construction signage and posted detour routes in these areas.

Line painting operations are underway throughout Essex County. Please exercise patience and be prepared to drive slowly through these areas. To prevent damage to your vehicle, please do not drive over the wet paint.
