The Essex County Library, with direction and support from the County of Essex, continues to assess the concerns of the COVID-19 situation.

In order to reduce the risk to library staff and patrons, the following services will be suspended, effective Saturday, March 14, at all branch locations until further notice:

  • All programming services including March Break activities
  • Drop-in activities
  • Outreach services
  • Community partnerships, including room bookings

Essex County Library branches will remain open to the public for general use.

Staff and patrons are encouraged to be considerate of others and to adhere to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care guidelines:

  • Stay at home if you are sick
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water
  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers
  • Sneeze or cough into your sleeve
  • Practice social distancing – give extra space between yourself and others when sitting or standing in public areas

The Essex County Library apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Essex County Library will continue to monitor the information provided by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and will adjust their services and programming as required.

The Essex County Library will keep the community informed of any changes to their services through their website.
