Essex-Windsor EMS Chief Receives Key to City of Windsor
Essex-Windsor EMS Chief Bruce Krauter has been presented with a key to the City of Windsor by Mayor Drew Dilkens.
Dilkens surprised Krauter with the tribute at a ceremony Monday night at the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts, where a dozen Paramedics were receiving Governor General’s Exemplary Service Awards.
Dilkens said it was the highest award he could bestow as Mayor and praised Krauter and his EMS team for their “remarkable” response to the pandemic.
“Like everyone in the community, I appreciate and respect EMS. There is one person in Essex-Windsor EMS who leads the show. And I didn’t know Bruce Krauter very well until the pandemic started. I could give you a litany of examples of how Bruce Krauter led you to deliver the service that you delivered. I have never seen anything like it,” said Dilkens.
“I’ve worked very closely with Bruce over the last two years to make sure the response for Windsor was appropriate and I’ve seen him perform unlike anyone else I’ve ever seen in this particular role.”
