Sgt. Dunsmore (by Zoom) – RCMP Detachment Vermilion Quarterly Community Policing Report – January 1 to March 31, 2021

Mayor Caroline McAuley congratulated Sgt. Dunsmore on his promotion to Sergeant in the Vermilion Detachment Commander position.

Sgt. Dunsmore reviewed the staffing update and identified nine police officer positions with seven staffed and two vacancies. There are three detachment support positions with one vacancy.

Discussion around the three priority areas on the Quarterly Community Policing Report: Crime Reduction, Enhance Public Confidence and Engagement, Enhance Road Safety.

Mayor McAuley provided a brief update on the hiring of a new Community Peace Officer.

Gratitude was expressed for the service provided to the community by the Vermilion RCMP.

Broadband Request for Proposal (RFP)

Council for the Town of Vermilion authorized administration to enter into negotiations with Digital Infrastructure Group towards a suitable contract.

Parks, Recreation and Culture

2021 Parks, Recreation and Culture Grant Application Vermilion/Clandonald 4-H Beef Interclub

Council for the Town of Vermilion approved the $500 grant to the Vermilion/Clandonald 4-H Beef Interclub.

2021/2022 Ice User Rental Rates

Council for the Town of Vermilion approved unchanged Ice User Rental Rates for the 2021/2022 ice season, effective September 1, 2021.
