New Business

Public Commentary

Mr. Roger Salt expressed concerns regarding a lack of communication around public meetings and notifying residents of meetings being held by Council.

Mr. Erwin Warkentin expressed concerns regarding contractors missing pick up of recycling over the past month on Young Drive. Additionally, Mr. Warkentin spoke regarding the Airport Advisory Committee and advised Council on the expertise that can be used for the benefit of the community and the Airport.

Operating & Capital Budget for 2024

Council approved the 2024-2028 Operating Budget with revenues and expenses detailed in the attached Appendix A and 2024-2033 Capital Budget and Forecast with expenditures and funding detailed in Appendix B, which includes an increase in property tax revenue of 4.8%, an increase in Water, Sewer and Solid Waste Utility rates as detailed in Appendix C.

Library

Council appointed Margaret McCormack, Leanne Martin and Caroline Martin to the Vermilion Library Board for a 2-year term expiring November 27, 2025.
