New Business

Public Commentary

Several residents addressed Council regarding the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP).

2022 Funding for REP Program Ice Surcharge

Council approved the hiring of part-time vaccine checkers for the Town of Vermilion for the duration of the REP program.

Auditor Appointment for 2021 Fiscal Year

Council appointed Donald L. Isaman Professional Corporation as the external financial auditors for the 2021 fiscal year.

2022 Budget Recommendation

Council approved first reading of the 2022‐2024 Operating Budget.

Council approved first reading of the 2022‐2026 Capital Budget and Forecast which includes an increase in property tax revenue of 2.2%, and an increase in Water and Solid Waste Utility rates.

Council approved retaining the Sewer Consumption rate model that is in place.

Committee Reports

A number of Committee Reports were received for information.

Parks, Recreation and Culture

Netting for Outdoor Rink

Council accepted the recommendation to proceed with building the netting around the Outdoor Rink.

Airport Advisory

Committee Membership Appointment

Council reappointed Darcy Balaneski to the Airport Advisory Committee for a two-year term.

Library

Vermilion Public Library Board Appointments 2021

Council reappointed Brad Gallamore, Anna Giesbrecht, Richard Yaceyko, Justin Thompson, Joan Mudryk and appointed Maxine Hancock as per recommendation by the Vermilion Library Board.
