Moment of Reflection

Mayor McAuley pointed out that considering the recent events in Kamloops, and in solidarity with our indigenous community, the Town has lowered our flags at all facilities. The flags will remain at half-mast for 8 days and 23 hours, 1 hour for each identified soul. Mayor Caroline McAuley called for a moment of silent reflection.

New Business

Proclamation – Recreation and Parks Month

Council proclaimed the month of June 2021 as Recreation and Parks month.

V-Net Broadband Project

Council committed $2,400,000 in total funding from the Town’s Municipal Sustainability Initiative (MSI) grants, or in the absence of sufficient MSI funding from alternative sources, towards the construction and operation of a highspeed broadband fibre network in the Town of Vermilion, subject to the terms of a final agreement to be approved by Council with Digital Infrastructure Group or related entity.
