Public Commentary

Ms. Lillian Wilson brought forward the request to allow hens within town limits behind the Vermilion & District Housing Foundation. Administration to follow up with further information to Ms. Wilson.

2023-2024 Ice User Rental Rates

Council increased Ice Rates by 10% for Adults, Youth, Jr. B and Non-Resident/Other ice users for the 2023-2024 season effective September 1st, 2023.

Capital Budget Amendments

Council approved an amendment to the 2019 Capital Budget to increase Waste Water Treatment Plant budget to $20,250,000 funded from reserve & MSI.

Recreation and Parks Month June 2023

Council proclaimed the month of June 2023 as Recreation and Parks Month.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEADD) June 15, 2023

Council proclaimed the day of June 15, 2023 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Northeast Alberta Alliance for Growth & Opportunity

Council approved the requested $1,200.00 from Northeast Alberta Alliance for Growth & Opportunity to hire a Lobbyist. Funds to be transferred from GL 2-11-221-00 Council Advertisement and Promotion.

Correspondence

Letter to Alberta Parks re: Spray Park

Council supported the request for earlier operational start of the Vermilion Provincial Spray Park by providing a letter of request to Alberta Parks.
