Public Hearing
Bylaw 3-2021 – Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP)
Council held a Public Hearing on September 7, 2021 regarding the Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) Bylaw.
There were no objections to the proposed bylaw during the Public Hearing. Council will proceed with second and third reading to Bylaw 3-2021 in future Council meetings after all public hearings are completed.
New Business
The Local Democracy Pledge (the Pledge)
Council agreed to advocating the voluntary commitment to candidates to take this pledge after September 20, 2021 and use it as an opportunity to engage in this pledge.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Council for the Town of Vermilion recognized September 30th as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as per Policy 11/17/2020 as a statutory holiday.
Chief Administrative Officer Appointment
Council appointed the successful candidate to the Chief Administrative Officer Position effective September 7, 2021.

Economic Development
Retail Development Incentive Program – The Old School Cheesery
Council for the Town of Vermilion pre-approved The Old School Cheesery application up to a maximum amount of $15,000 under the 2021 Retail Development Incentive Program providing the following conditions are met. 1. The exact incentive to be paid once renovations are complete and all receipts are submitted to the Economic Development Committee for review. 2. Payment of the Incentive will occur before May 1, 2022. 3. The Old School Cheesery understands their acceptance of the incentive payment through the Retail Development Incentive Program is a one-time payment only. 4. The cost of the program plaque will be taken out of the incentive paid.
Broadband
Partner to Deploy and Operate an Open-Access Broadband Utility Network
Council approved administration to move forward and finalize the agreement to allow for construction and operation of a highspeed broadband fibre network in Vermilion.
Airport Advisory
Underwing Camping
Council approved the development of an underwing campsite at the Vermilion Airport for pilots to use.
