Hydro One to Hold Virtual Open House, Discussion About Preferred Route for Chatham-to-Lakeshore Line
Hydro One has selected the preferred route for a new Chatham-to-Lakeshore Line and is hosting a virtual open house and virtual live discussion to inform residents about the project.
Hydro One is proposing the construction of a new double-circuit 230 kilovolt transmission line from their Chatham Switching Station to the future Lakeshore Switching Station.
“A safe and reliable power supply is essential to ensure southwestern Ontario can continue to grow now and into the future,” says Hydro One on the project website. “This new transmission line will help accommodate future electricity growth, improve reliability for homes and businesses and support local industries in the region at a time when it is needed most.”
Residents are invited to attend an ongoing virtual open house to learn more about the preferred route, Class EA evaluation process and next steps.
A virtual live discussion will be held on Mach 11, 2021 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Residents are being asked to register for the online event.
