NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Off-Site Levy Bylaw

In accordance with the Municipal Government Act and amendments thereafter the Council of the Town of Vermilion will hold a Public Hearing in consideration of passing Bylaw 5-2022 to establish an off-site levy for land that is to be subdivided or developed within the Town of Vermilion. Off-site levies collected from developers are used to facilitate growth of the community by providing harmonized off-site levy rates for roads, water, sanitary, and stormwater infrastructure that are fair and equitable and comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Please take notice that on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 6:15 p.m. a Public Hearing will be held at the Town of Vermilion Town Hall located at 5021 - 49th Avenue to hear from anyone who feels they may be affected by the proposed Off-Site Levy Bylaw 5-2022.

A copy of the relevant documents is available here or may be examined at the Town Hall at any time during regular business hours. Anyone wishing to be heard either directly or on someone else's behalf may make oral representation at the public hearing. Written submissions are acceptable and must be delivered to the to the Town Hall address indicated above prior to July 15, 2022. At the Public Hearing, the Mayor shall direct to hear representation from those property owners directly affected together with any other person who wishes to make representation.

Any person who is directly affected by a bylaw imposing a levy for facilities may submit a notice of appeal to the Municipal Government Board not later than 30 days after the bylaw imposing the levy has been passed.
