Peace and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day

This event is an occasion to remember the police and peace officers who have fallen in the line of duty, and also recognizes families, friends and colleagues who have suffered the devastating loss of a loved one.

The Canadian government officially established the day in 1998. Flags on all federal and provincial establishments and buildings in the country are half-masted from sunrise to sunset.

In honour of Peace and our Peace Officers the Town of Vermilion will be lowering our flags at Town Hall on September 25.
