South Talbot Road to Close at County Road 11 for Roundabout Construction Project

South Talbot Road will be closed in both directions at County Road 11 (Walker Road) beginning Monday, Aug. 10, for a roundabout construction project. The closure is expected to remain in effect until October 30.

A $2,489,000 plus H.S.T. contract for construction of the single-lane roundabout was awarded to J&J Infrastructure and a $149,025 plus H.S.T. contract was awarded to CIMA Canada Inc. for administration and on-site inspection.

A study concluded that a roundabout was the best, permanent solution for that intersection. Roundabouts in Essex County have already been constructed at the intersections of County Roads 22 and 2, County Roads 23 and 8 and County Road 31 and Mersea Road 3.
