Speed Limit on County Road 34 Near Intersection Reduced

The speed limit on County Road 34 east of County Road 19 (Manning Road) is being reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h as of June 30.

The reduced speed limit will be in effect from the intersection with County Road 19 to just east of Dawson Road. Motorists should watch for new speed limit signs and are urged to slow down when approaching the traffic lights at County Road 34 and County Road 19.

Essex County council voted in April to lower the speed limit on the stretch of County Road 34 east of County Road 19. The decision came after the Municipality of Lakeshore, where the road is located, requested the change and a review was conducted by the county.

The posted speed limit on County Road 34 west of the intersection is 50 km/h.
