The County of Essex Recognizes the National Day of Mourning
The County of Essex is honouring the National Day of Mourning by lowering all flags at County-owned facilities to half-mast.
The National Day of Mourning held annually in Canada on April 28 is not only a day to remember and honour those lives lost or injured due to a workplace tragedy, but also a day to renew the commitment to improve health and safety in the workplace and prevent further injuries, illnesses and deaths.
Commemorating those who have been hurt or killed in the workplace shows respect for the fallen, while serving as a reminder of the importance of occupational health and safety. The County of Essex is committed to continuously improving health and safety in the workplace.
All County flags will be at half-mast from sunrise to sunset.
