Public Health Unit

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit provides information and public health warnings and recommendations to residents of Essex County and Windsor.

Warden Gary McNamara chairs the Board of Health that oversees the health unit. Also on the board from the County of Essex are Essex Mayor Larry Snively, Lakeshore Deputy Mayor Tracey Bailey and Tecumseh Deputy Mayor Joe Bachetti.

Opioid Strategy

The Windsor-Essex Community Opioid and Substance Strategy seeks to address substance abuse through a community-driven action plan with four pillars:

• Harm Reduction
• Treatment and Recovery
• Enforcement and Justice
