The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is working with the Ontario Health Study (OHS) to help promote their upcoming visit to our community. The OHS will be conducting a Study Centre at the WFCU Centre at 8787 McHugh Street in Windsor from December 10 to 14, 2014.

At the November 5th, 2014 Special Meeting, Essex County Council made the decision to close Victoria Street Manor, an assisted living facility in Amherstburg, tentatively by January 31, 2015. .

Environment Canada is developing a recovery strategy for Scarlet Ammannia which is an annual plant that is listed as an endangered species and is requesting input on the recovery strategy for this plant. They are inviting landowners/land managers of land with the proposed critical habitat for this plant to participate in the public process of reviewing and providing comments to inform the development of the final recovery strategy and to be part of larger efforts to ensure the survival and recovery of species at risk.
