  • County of Essex Lowers Flags to Honour Residential School Victims

    The County of Essex today lowered flags at all its facilities to honour the 215 children whose remains were found on the site of a former residential school in British Columbia. The flags at County facilities – including Essex-Windsor EMS bases and Sun Parlor Home in Leamington – will remain at half-mast for 215 hours.

  • Public Invited to Report Accessibility Issues on Greenway Trails

    The Essex County Accessibility Advisory Committee, in partnership with the Essex Region Conservation Authority, today launched a web page where the public can provide feedback about Greenway trails. The first phase of the committee’s WE Check the Trails project focuses on ERCA’s 80 kilometres of trails, which include the Chrysler Canada Greenway, the Cypher Systems Group Greenway and the Rotary (1918) Centennial Hub.

  • 2021-06-02 Essex County Council Regular Meeting Notice

    There will be a meeting of Essex County Council on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 7:00 PM. As permitted under By-law 2020-16, a By-law to Amend By-law 41-2018, being a by-law to provide rules governing the order and proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex, adopted on March 26, 2020, the meeting will take place remotely, with members of County Council joining via web-conference.
